Job Description
Description AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As a Network Deployment Technician at AWS, you will get to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas. The role involves some periods working independently of your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication. #bigandbold Key job responsibilities
- Installation of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
- Assist in troubleshooting fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Create colocation remote hand requests for new capacity installations.
- Support project leads to deliver network capacity projects.
- Help to resolve data center and facility issues.
- Support small to mid-size network deployment projects.
- Building relationships with internal and partner teams.
- Participate in site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
- Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
- Physical Requirements (all physical requirements may be done with reasonable accommodations).
- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma Preferred Qualifications
