Job Description

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to support and optimize the core database infrastructure that powers an Epic environment for a healthcare system. This individual will be responsible for the performance, stability, and availability of the Epic Operational Database (ODB) running on InterSystems IRIS within a Linux environment. They will manage the full database lifecycle across production and non-production environments, lead high availability and disaster recovery efforts, and play a key role in executing zero-downtime upgrades and system enhancements. This role acts as a critical liaison with Epic Technical Services and internal infrastructure teams to proactively address system performance, security, and scalability
  • ensuring a reliable experience for clinicians and operational staff across the health system.

  • Epic ODBA (Operational Database Administrator) experience
  • Hands on experience with Intersystems IRIS (or Cache) supporting Epic
  • Strong Linux administration (RHEL or similar)
  • Experience with Epic System Pulse & Performance Analytics
  • Strong background in ECP (Enterprise Cache Protocol)
  • Experience leading zero-downtime upgrades (Transparent / Conventional)
  • Prior involvement in Gold Standard DR validations with Epic TS
  • Healthcare system experience (large hospital environments preferred)
  • Exposure to security remediation + compliance (HIPAA, audit readiness)
