100% REMOTE Position Overview We are seeking a Sales Engineer to drive technical pre-sales, design comprehensive datacenter infrastructure solutions, and support customers from discovery through solution handover. The role combines deep technical expertise in cabling, fiber, servers and storage with strong customer engagement and proposal development skills to enable successful sales outcomes and seamless project delivery. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with sales teams to translate customer requirements into scalable, cost-effective datacenter solutions and proposals. Lead technical discovery sessions and customer workshops to capture requirements, constraints and success criteria. Design end-to-end datacenter infrastructure architectures including low-voltage cabling, fiber backbone, racks, power, cooling, servers and storage devices. Produce detailed solution documentation:
network and cabling diagrams, bill of materials (BOM), technical specifications and engineering drawings/ CAD outputs as required. Respond to RFPs/RFIs with accurate technical responses, solution rationales, and pricing support. Conduct site surveys and assess existing cabling, fiber and datacenter infrastructure to identify remediation or upgrade needs. Coordinate with engineering, project management and installation teams to ensure solution feasibility, installation readiness and smooth handover. Provide technical support during sales cycles and implementation, including proof-of-concept, staging and commissioning activities. Deliver customer presentations, demonstrations and training to communicate technical value and ensure operational readiness. Stay current with industry standards, best practices and vendor products to inform solution designs and recommendations. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years experience in datacenter solutions architecture, systems integration or technical pre-sales for datacenter projects. Practical experience with low-voltage cabling and fiber infrastructure design, including knowledge of cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA). Hands-on familiarity with servers, storage devices and rack-level infrastructure; ability to specify and integrate compute and storage systems. Experience creating BOMs, technical drawings and solution documentation; familiarity with CAD or network diagramming tools a plus. Strong customer-facing skills with experience leading technical workshops, presentations and RFP responses. Excellent problem solving, communication and project coordination skills; able to work across sales, engineering and delivery teams. Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI, CCNA, vendor datacenter certifications) and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
