Washington, DC Job Details Full-time $95,000 - $130,000 a year 9 hours ago Qualifications Data Integration (Data management) Computer Science DoD experience SQL Database server management Bachelor's degree Computer Information Systems Failover clustering SSIS Production troubleshooting Information Technology Full Job Description Position Summary Qnexis is seeking a Database Administrator with strong Microsoft SQL Server administration experience to support production database operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering SQL Server 2016 and 2019, deploying and managing SQL Server clusters, supporting SSIS packages, and troubleshooting database issues in structured federal or DoD environments. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, communicate clearly, document work properly, and coordinate with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and program teams. Key Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server production environments. Support SQL Server 2016 and SQL Server 2019 databases. Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server clusters. Administer, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot SSIS packages. Monitor database health, availability, performance, storage, and capacity. Support database backup, recovery, restoration, and continuity procedures. Troubleshoot database issues and perform root-cause analysis. Support SQL Server patching, configuration updates, maintenance windows, and change requests. Work with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and client teams to resolve database-related issues. Support database permissions, access control, and security requirements. Maintain clear technical documentation for database configurations, procedures, incidents, and changes. Follow federal/DoD operational processes, security practices, and client procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field. Minimum of six years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Server 2016 and/or SQL Server 2019. Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment. Experience deploying and managing Microsoft SQL Server clusters. Minimum of five years of experience administering production environments involving SSIS packages. Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting SSIS packages. Experience working in DoD environments is required. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal government or defense clients. Experience with SQL Server backup, restore, replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes. Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis. Experience supporting high-availability or mission-critical systems. Familiarity with federal cybersecurity, change management, configuration management, and compliance processes. Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy, or similar tools. Experience supporting application development teams, reporting systems, or data integration workflows. CompTIA Security+ or similar technical certification is helpful but not required. Professional Skills Strong attention to detail. Reliable follow-through and ownership of assigned tasks. Ability to troubleshoot under time-sensitive conditions. Ability to communicate technical issues clearly. Ability to prioritize operational work, incidents, and maintenance activities. Strong documentation habits. Professional judgment when working in structured client environments. Comfortable working with technical teams, program staff, and client stakeholders.
