Remote Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly capable SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to provide hands-on support for a complex, enterprise SQL Server environment during a temporary engagement. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining high availability, supporting infrastructure and application initiatives, and ensuring optimal database performance across both on-premises and cloud-based systems. This is a fully remote contract position supporting a technically strong team, where the DBA will serve as the primary database expert and partner closely with application teams and leadership. Database Administrator:

Maintain high-availability SQL Server environments , ensuring uptime, reliability, and stability Perform database administration tasks including patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning Manage and support AlwaysOn Availability Groups, failover configurations, and database replication Lead and contribute to SQL Server projects , such as: Standing up new SQL Server instances (e.g., SQL Server 2025 Enterprise) Migrating legacy SQL Server environments to modern platforms Supporting cloud migration initiatives (e.g., document management systems) Collaborate with systems analysts and development teams on data operations (scripting, inserts/updates, data movement) Evaluate current environments and provide recommendations for optimization and best practices Support environments spanning on-prem, SaaS, and virtualized infrastructure (VMware, with movement toward Hyper-V) Work with advanced data structures including data warehouses, replicas, tabular models, and cubes Preferred Experience of the
