$60/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match Overview Seeking an SQL Developer contractor for a high-profile project focused on improving performance and efficiency of databases supporting the WAVE Tactical Push to Talk on-prem solution. Requires "bare metal" understanding. Responsible for improving high-performance database objects, maintaining transaction volumes, and ensuring the high availability solution is optimized and documented. Works as part of an Agile team across the full product development lifecycle: functional/design specifications, overseeing development, and handing off deliverables to QA. Key Responsibilities Improve high-performance database objects Maintain transaction volumes Ensure the high availability solution is optimized and documented Work as part of an Agile team across the full product development lifecycle Develop functional and design specifications Oversee development and hand off deliverables to QA Collaborate with management, developers, and cross-functional technical teams to manage releases and ensure specifications are met Support modernization efforts by refactoring legacy databases using modern SQL features Implement security roles and permissions Required Skills 5+ years SQL development experience MS SQL Server (deep knowledge of SQL Server 2022) Advanced T-SQL development: high-performing stored procedures, UDFs, triggers Physical database design, including storage optimization Performance tooling: SQL Profiler, Extended Events, Query Store High Availability support
