We are best known for The Shoe That Grows, a shoe that expands five sizes and lasts for years, distributed to children around the world. Our work today spans Kenya-based shoe distribution, U.S. based shoe sales, and a growing portfolio of products and partnerships addressing educational barriers for kids living in poverty. We are a small, close-knit team that values direct communication, mutual trust, and doing meaningful work with excellence. We care about how we do the work as much as what we do. The role We are hiring a full-time Systems & Technology Manager to own the technology backbone of Because International. This is a senior technical role that consolidates systems administration, web and e-commerce development, IT support, and AI infrastructure into a single position. You will own our Salesforce, Shopify, Zapier, and related integrations end to end. You will partner closely with leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions and maintain the systems that power our shoe distribution and donor operations. You will also lead our organization-wide AI strategy, including how we adopt AI tools, build internal workflows, and use technology to multiply the team's capacity. This role resides within the Operations team and works in close partnership with organization leadership. What you'll own Salesforce administration and architecture Own our Salesforce setup end to end, including flows, reports, dashboards, data integrity, and backend configuration Build and maintain reporting that gives every department the visibility they need to do their jobs well Lead best practices for data organization, train the team on Salesforce usage, and drive data cleanup initiatives Serve as the authoritative owner of how donor, distribution, and program data is structured and maintained AI infrastructure and strategy Lead our organization-wide AI strategy, including tool selection, workflow design, and team training Build and maintain AI-powered workflows, integrations, and internal tools that increase the team's capacity Stay current on AI developments and help leadership make informed decisions about adoption Web and digital systems Own our Shopify store end to end, including product and variant management, backend configuration, email notifications, and inventory Handle web development work including site updates, custom Shopify modifications, landing pages, and fundraising page builds Partner with our Marketing lead to implement design and UX improvements that support campaigns and supporter experience Own the integrations that connect Shopify, Salesforce, Zapier, and our other tools, including our SIMBA survey data pipeline Troubleshoot cross-system issues from end to end, including tracing broken workflows back to their source Build and maintain automations in Zapier, Make, and similar tools to reduce manual workload across the team Own the systems side of the shoe distribution process, including Shopify order entry, Salesforce service delivery creation, and campaign redemption Partner with our Impact lead to ensure distribution data is accurate, complete, and reportable IT and team support Provide first-line IT support for the team, including hardware, software access, Microsoft 365, printers, phones, and device onboarding Manage relationships with hardware vendors Keep the team's day-to-day technology running smoothly with minimal friction Financial integration and operations Lead the month-end reconciliation process between Shopify and Salesforce, auditing data flow and resolving discrepancies Perform inventory troubleshooting and execute formal Shopify inventory updates for our US and Kenya locations following physical counts Provide timely reminders to staff on month-end closing deadlines and system tasks Support our Controller with accounting-adjacent system tasks and take on additional responsibilities as capacity allows You're a strong fit if you Have meaningful experience administering Salesforce (flows, reports, data architecture, backend configuration) Are comfortable in the Shopify backend and can confidently handle web development work Have built automations across tools like Zapier, Make, or similar Are genuinely interested in AI and have experience applying it thoughtfully in a professional context Can explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates clearly and patiently Enjoy a generalist scope and can move fluently between strategic systems work and day-to-day IT support Are a fast learner and entrepreneurial in nature — comfortable with ambiguity, willing to figure things out, and eager to grow into responsibilities the role hasn't yet defined Care about the mission and want your work to contribute to something meaningful Nice to have Salesforce Administrator certification Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization Experience with Mailchimp, QuickBooks Online, or donor CRM systems Light hardware and networking troubleshooting skills Compensation and benefits Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, exempt position. Location and schedule This is a hybrid role based out of our Nampa, Idaho office, with a typical schedule of three days in-office and two days work-from-home. We're hiring locally.
