This role is critical to ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance of shared database platforms supporting mission-critical applicatio ns.
You will serve as a strategic partner to application teams, infrastructure, security, and data governance functions, driving modernization, automation, and operational excellen ce. Administer multi-tenant architectures (CDB/PDB), RAC, and Data Guard configurati ons.
Ensure database uptime, availability, and performance meet enterprise S LAs.
Cloud & Hybrid Architec tureDesign and manage Oracle deployments in OCI (Autonomous DB, Exadata Cloud Service, DB Syste ms).Support Oracle databases running in AWS (EC2-hosted Oracle, RDS Oracle where applicab le).Implement hybrid connectivity strategies (VPN, Fast Connect, Direct Conne ct).Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives (lift-and-shift, re-platformi ng).Performance & Capacity Manage mentProactively monitor performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and cloud-native to ols.
Tune SQL, PL/SQL, and database configurations for optimal performa nce.
Forecast capacity and storage growth across environm e nts.
Backup, Recovery & High Availabi lityImplement and manage RMAN backup strategies across hybrid environme nts.
Maintain and test disaster recovery solutions (Data Guard, Active Data Gua rd).Ensure RPO/RTO targets are met and validated regula rly.
Security & Compli anceEnforce database security standards including encryption (TDE), patching, and access contr ols.
Partner with security and compliance teams to support audits and regulatory requireme nts.
Implement least-privilege access and database activity monitor ing.
Automation & DevOps Enable mentDevelop automation using Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or OCI Resource Mana ger.
Integrate database operations into CI/CD pipeli nes.
Standardize provisioning, patching, and configuration managem ent.
Ensure database environments align with governance standards and metadata management practi ces.
Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to optimize data accessibil ity.
Operational Excell enceProvide 24/7 support as part of an on-call rotat ion.
Troubleshoot complex incidents and perform root cause analy sis.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for database operati ons.
Proven ability to lead projects, work both independently and in a teamenvironment, take ownership of projects from the beginning to the finish l ine.
Able to prioritize tasks and make adjustment as ne eded Backg roundMultiple years of hands-on enterprise Oracle database su pportStrong SQL and PL/SQL backgr ound.
