TalentLogistiX is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician (L1, L2, L3) to lead installation teams performing fiber optic and network infrastructure work in mission-critical data center environments. This role is responsible for overseeing field operations, ensuring installation work meets technical, quality, and safety standards, and mentoring technicians at various skill levels. The Data Center Technician (L1, L2, L3) is responsible for executing installation services in accordance with contractual agreements, adhering to technical, quality, and safety standards. This role operates independently, performing complex installations in live, mission-critical data center environments with minimal supervision. The Data Center Technician (L1, L2, L3) also contributes to quality assurance and quality control processes and provides guidance and mentorship to entry-level technicians. Work may require overtime, weekends, holidays, off-hours, and travel as business needs dictate.

Data center Tech (L1) Perform non-technical support tasks including material handling, site escorts, and general labor duties Work under direct supervision of a mentor technician; no independent technical work required initially Assist with project setup, cleanup, and organization of materials and tools Gain exposure to: Basic tools and construction practice, Communication network fundamentals, Cable installation QA/QC processes. Fiber optic cable types, handling, and protection methods, ISP racks, cabinets, ladder racks, and fiber management systems, Cable testing procedures and equipment, Data center safety standards and security protocols Data Center Tech (L2) Perform installation services according to contractual requirements and technical standards. Independently execute all installation tasks with minimal supervision. Develop and follow work plans, procedures, and scope with guidance from lead technicians as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across fiber optic and twisted pair systems, including signal loss, low signal, and interface errors. Support quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes for assigned work. Operate effectively in live, mission-critical environments. Mentor and train L1 Field Trainee Technicians. Data Center Tech (L3) Lead field teams executing installation services in accordance with project scope, ensuring compliance with all technical, safety, QA, and QC standards Develop and oversee work plans, procedures, and field execution with minimal supervision Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and onsite coordination activities Represent field operations in project and customer meetings as needed Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and internal teams to meet project timelines and quality expectations Travel to regional data center sites and respond to onsite service requests Serve as a subject matter expert in fiber optic installation, testing, and complex troubleshooting in live data center environments Perform and oversee installation of fiber and copper cabling including routing, terminating, labeling, and testing Lead rack and stack operations, patch panel installations, and structured cabling systems Troubleshoot and resolve complex connectivity issues including signal loss, low signal, and hardware failures Interpret and apply cable maps, schematics, blueprints, and project documentation Maintain accurate documentation, asset tracking, and service reporting Ensure all work meets technical specifications, safety standards, and QA/QC requirements Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes for all assigned projects Enforce adherence to data center safety, security, and change management protocols Qualifications:
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in construction, low-voltage cabling, telecommunications, data centers, or related technical field preferred Equivalent combination of work experience, military experience, or technical training may be considered Experience level requirements vary by role: L1: Minimum 6 months of construction, general labor, low-voltage, or related field experience preferred L2: Minimum 3 years of structured cabling, fiber optic, or data center installation experience required L3: Minimum 5+ years of data center, structured cabling, or fiber optic installation leadership experience required Technical Skills Basic understanding of hand and power tools Ability to read and interpret work orders, cable maps, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Knowledge of structured cabling systems, fiber optic cabling, and copper cabling standards preferred Experience with cable routing, terminating, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting preferred Familiarity with ISP racks, cabinets, ladder racks, patch panels, and fiber management systems preferred Ability to perform QA/QC inspections and maintain accurate documentation Understanding of data center safety standards, security requirements, and change management procedures TalentLogistiX is a workforce business solutions provider.
