L2 FIOS/Hi-Fiber Datacenter Technician

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Technician to support a large-scale, next-generation data center environment tied to advanced AI infrastructure initiatives. This is a hands-on role ideal for technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, working with fiber at scale, and supporting mission-critical systems. What You'll Be Doing Responding to data center trouble tickets and performing L2-level troubleshooting Diagnosing and resolving fiber connectivity issues Replacing, pulling, terminating, and managing fiber and coax cabling Supporting a major infrastructure modernization effort converting legacy cabling to fiber Performing rack & stack and infrastructure support as needed Working across multiple concurrent projects in a live production data center Required Skills & Experience Data Center Technician experience (L2 preferred) Hands-on experience with fiber and coax cabling Pulling, terminating, and replacing cables in a data center environment Rack & stack and structured cabling experience Strong troubleshooting skills within data center infrastructure Nice to Have Experience using fiber testers (OTDR or similar) Understanding of single-mode vs. multi-mode fiber Experience supporting large-scale or hyperscale data centers Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Abilene, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
