Long Term Contract Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA with Amazon RDS expertise to support and manage enterprise database environments on AWS cloud platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in PostgreSQL administration, Amazon RDS operations, performance tuning, backup/recovery, monitoring, and high availability solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support PostgreSQL databases hosted on Amazon RDS
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations
  • Monitor database health, performance, replication, and availability
  • Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database performance tuning
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and failover strategies
  • Configure and maintain replication, HA, and clustering solutions
  • Support database security, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Troubleshoot database incidents, performance bottlenecks, and operational issues
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Application teams for deployment and automation activities
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive database support
Required Skills:
  • Must have atleast 6+ years of PostgreSQL DBA experience
  • 3+ years of Amazon
RDS / AWS
cloud database administration experience
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL DBA activities
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon
RDS / AWS RDS
  • Expertise in: o Performance tuning o Query optimization o Replication o Backup & recovery o High Availability
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-native database concepts
Knowledge of:
o SQL / PL/pgSQL o Linux administration o Shell/Python scripting
  • Experience with monitoring tools and automation
Preferred Skills:
AWS certification is a plus Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code Familiarity with Aurora PostgreSQL Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD environments Experience with database migration projects
