Job Description
Project Engineer - Data Center Construction Position Overview We are seeking a Project Engineer with proven experience supporting the construction of large-scale data center projects from the ground up. This role will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution from preconstruction through turnover. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mission-critical facilities and a strong understanding of the unique challenges associated with data center construction. Experience on data center projects exceeding $250 million in value is highly preferred. Responsibilities Support project teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of ground-up data center construction projects. Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation. Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost tracking. Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. Review construction documents, specifications, and drawings for completeness and constructability. Track project progress and assist in resolving technical and field-related issues. Support quality control and ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards. Assist with commissioning, startup, and turnover activities. Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate project records. Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred. 3+ years of construction experience with a focus on data center, mission-critical, or large-scale commercial projects. Proven experience supporting the construction of ground-up data center facilities. Experience on projects valued at $250 million or greater is highly preferred. Strong understanding of construction processes, project controls, and document management. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, and scheduling software. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment. Preferred Experience Mission-critical, hyperscale, or colocation data center construction. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination. Commissioning and turnover processes. Experience working for a general contractor on large-scale construction projects.
