Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to help modernize and strengthen enterprise database platforms that support critical business operations. This role is responsible for managing, optimizing, and evolving large-scale database environments to ensure scalability, security, reliability, and high availability. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, automation, and disaster recovery within fast-paced enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Support and enhance Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database environments across development and production systems Perform database maintenance, lifecycle management, upgrades, migrations, patching, monitoring, and backup/recovery operations Drive database performance tuning and optimization including indexing strategies, workload analysis, and capacity planning Partner with engineering teams on patching, change management, and scheduled maintenance activities Troubleshoot production database issues and implement long-term solutions to improve stability and reliability Support high availability and disaster recovery strategies including failover readiness and validation Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation support as required Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing Contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic database platform initiatives Required Qualifications 12+ years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience Strong experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), ASM, and Data Guard Experience supporting development and production database environments including upgrades, migrations, patching, monitoring, and backup/recovery Proficiency with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and GoldenGate Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills with a focus on database performance tuning Strong understanding of database security practices including access control, auditing, and compliance Experience with scripting and automation using Shell, Perl, PowerShell, or similar technologies Experience supporting high-availability and disaster recovery environments Experience with ETL and large-scale data movement processes Familiarity with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Remedy, and Microsoft Teams Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as GitHub and GitHub Actions Strong technical documentation and communication skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience Willingness to support after-hours and weekend operational activities as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with PostgreSQL administration in on-premises and/or cloud environments Experience with SQL Server administration and performance tuning Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Foglight Experience designing enterprise solutions for backup, monitoring, alerting, and security compliance Experience working in highly regulated industries such as financial services Proven experience mentoring team members and contributing to operational standards and best practices Experience leveraging automation or AI tools for operational process improvements Certifications Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification preferred
