Database Administrator Parkway Pharmacy - 4.1 Lubbock, TX Job Details Full-time $37.47 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer Science Mobile product development HIPAA Windows Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Database Administrator is needed to perform the following duties:
  • Design and optimize relational database schemas (SQL Server/MySQL), develop and fine-tune T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to reduce latency, improve efficiency, and manage overall database performance settings.
  • Administer and maintain pharmacy systems including BestRx, PrimeRx, Rx 30, and integrated DME platforms, customizing configurations to align with specific operational needs and ensuring real-time data availability, security, and HIPAA-compliant operations.
  • Manage and improve the interface between network systems and both local and remote databases, overseeing ETL processes to ensure accurate and seamless integration of structured health data across cloud and local storage environments.
  • Conduct regular data audits and generate custom reports and dashboards using SQL views and business intelligence tools such as Power BI to deliver actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Develop and implement strategies for data integrity, backup, and recovery to prevent data loss, handle database maintenance including user access management, and conduct daily data extractions and trend analysis to monitor system health and fix bugs.
  • Ensure all automated systems, data logic, and operational workflows conform with ICD-10 medical coding standards, insurance rules, healthcare billing requirements, and HIPAA regulations to maintain privacy and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the full data lifecycle for durable medical equipment (DME), including inventory management, patient information, billing, and supply chain data analysis to improve efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer service.
  • Manage and update the pharmacy's website, integrating new features, optimizing the user interface, and developing components that support pharmacy services, functionality, security, and accessibility.
  • Provide user training and technical support to enhance staff skills and overall database and system usability and lead ongoing improvement efforts by recommending and implementing system upgrades.
