Contract position Onsite, Monday-Friday 40 hours per week Initial 3-month engagement with strong potential for extension to 6 months $55/hour Target start date: ASAP Seeking two intermediate-level Data Center Rack & Stack Engineers to support day-to-day operations for a large retail client within an enterprise data center environment. This role is focused on hands-on execution and physical infrastructure support rather than senior-level architecture or engineering responsibilities.Responsibilities:
Install, remove, and rack servers and related hardware. Mount rails, brackets, and supporting equipment. Perform structured cabling, patching, labeling, and cable management. Validate power connections and connectivity. Assist with basic hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics. Manage inventory, equipment staging, and asset handling. Requirements:
2+ years of experience working in a data center, IT infrastructure, or rack-and-stack environment. Experience installing and removing servers, storage systems, and networking equipment. Knowledge of structured cabling practices, including copper and fiber patching. Familiarity with rack layouts, cable management, power distribution units (PDUs), and data center best practices. Ability to perform physical installation tasks, including lifting and moving equipment as needed. Basic troubleshooting skills related to server hardware, cabling, and connectivity. Experience with inventory management and asset tracking. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and professionalism when interacting with team members and stakeholders.
