Data Center Technical Operations Engineer Schedule:
Front half | Sunday-Wednesday | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Back half | Wednesday-Saturday | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Night and day shifts available Role Overview The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of a large‑scale Data Center. This position supports mission‑critical infrastructure by executing preventative and corrective maintenance, managing vendor activity, and ensuring operational excellence across electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers or technicians seeking hands‑on experience in critical facilities and data center operations with exposure to large‑scale infrastructure and cross‑functional teams. Key Responsibilities Provide on‑site leadership and oversight for shift technicians, lead technicians, contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work aligns with established procedures and safety standards. Support daily operations and emergency response for critical systems, including: Switchgear, generators, UPS systems, PDUs Chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units Building monitoring and control systems (BMS/EPMS) Perform and support preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to ensure high availability and reliability. Establish operational benchmarks, analyze trends, and prepare reports related to facility performance, risks, and maintenance activities. Assist with asset management, inventory tracking, and documentation accuracy. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or technical degree from a military, trade, or vocational program, with relevant hands‑on experience with UPS, PDU, Generators, AC/DC , HVAC 1-2 years of relevant experience in facilities, engineering, data centers, or critical infrastructure. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast‑paced, operational environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
