About the
Role:
The Lab Information System Coordinator (LIS Coordinator) plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by performing laboratory tests that aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This position requires a keen attention to detail and a strong understanding of laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and timely results. The LIS Coordinator will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide essential data that informs patient care decisions. Additionally, the role involves maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Ultimately, the LIS Coordinator contributes significantly to improving patient outcomes through precise laboratory analysis. •$10,000 SIGN-ON BONUS•Tuition Reimbursement Minimum Qualifications:
Certification in good standing as a Medical Laboratory Technician MLT(ASCP) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (preferred) or equivalent required. Recent graduates with an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology may be considered. Must obtain certification within one (1) year of employmentPreferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field. Experience with advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation. Familiarity with electronic laboratory information systems (LIS).Responsibilities:
Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on various biological specimens. Analyze test results and report findings to physicians and healthcare providers. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to safety protocols and quality control measures to maintain laboratory standards. Assist in the training and supervision of junior lab staff and interns.Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong analytical abilities, which are essential for interpreting complex test results accurately. Attention to detail is critical in ensuring that all laboratory procedures are followed meticulously, minimizing the risk of errors. Communication skills are also important, as the LIS Coordinator must effectively relay findings to healthcare providers and collaborate with team members.
