Job Description
Database Engineer (SQL Server / Azure) W2 Only role. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position. We are seeking a Database Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB to design, optimize, and support scalable cloud-native data solutions. The ideal candidate has experience with database architecture, performance tuning, Azure migrations, and modern data platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server databases for performance, scalability, and reliability. Lead Azure database migration and modernization initiatives. Build and maintain cloud-native data solutions using Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB. Develop high-performance database schemas, stored procedures, and queries. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to support application and data integration requirements. Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality. Required Qualifications 10+ years of database engineering experience. Strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization. Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Cosmos DB. Strong knowledge of database modeling, data architecture, and 3rd Normal Form (3NF). Experience reviewing execution plans and tuning high-volume databases. Knowledge of Azure SQL Hyperscale and cloud-native database architectures. Experience with database monitoring, performance troubleshooting, and migrations. Experience with distributed databases, ELT/ETL tools, and data streaming technologies. Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools. Knowledge of CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and modern data engineering practices.
