Job Description

We are looking for a Data Architect to support manufacturing data initiatives for a contract position based in Illinois. This role will focus on designing scalable data architecture, shaping reliable data models, and enabling integration across operational and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in structured data environments, governance practices, and modern data engineering tools to help build dependable, business-ready information assets.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain data architecture frameworks that support manufacturing operations, analytics, and enterprise reporting needs.
  • Create and refine relational and manufacturing-focused data models to improve consistency, usability, and long-term scalability.
  • Lead integration planning across business systems, operational technology platforms, and connected data environments.
  • Establish governance standards for data quality, structure, ownership, and lifecycle management across critical datasets.
  • Define and manage version-controlled master data practices to strengthen traceability and accuracy.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using technologies such as Python, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Hadoop, ETL processes, and SQL Server.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into practical architectural solutions.
  • Support connectivity with manufacturing execution, historian, and recipe management platforms where applicable.
  • Contribute to integration activities involving industrial tools such as iFix, WinCC, FactoryTalk, and PI Historian when required.
