$36-$41/hr Position Overview The Data Product Manager leads the full lifecycle of data-centric products, with a strong focus on product discovery to ensure alignment with user needs and business value. This role partners with engineering, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate insights into impactful data products across the enterprise. Job Responsibilities In this role, you will manage and support a variety of projects within the Data Office.
Key responsibilities include:
Product Strategy & Vision Define data product strategy and vision aligned with enterprise and Data Office goals Develop and maintain a product roadmap that evolves with changing user needs Identify enterprise data opportunities and user needs through research and analysis Product Discovery Lead design sessions with business unit stakeholders to ideate and develop draft product requirements Conduct user interviews and surveys to gather insights and validate product concepts Develop mockups and conduct usability testing to refine product direction Perform competitive analysis to identify differentiation opportunities Apply data-driven techniques to uncover emerging trends and inform discovery Product Development & Technical Oversight Partner with engineering, solution architects, and business stakeholders to translate discovery insights into product features Prioritize features and functionalities based on business impact and technical feasibility Stakeholder Management Engage with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements and communicate product status Advocate for the product internally and ensure alignment with broader business objectives Provide training and support to maximize product adoption across user groups Data Analysis & Insights Utilize data analysis tools to derive actionable insights that inform product decisions Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of data within products Performance Metrics & Reporting Define and monitor KPIs to assess product performance and return on investment, including product-level P&L forecasting Manage product development budget and ensure optimal resource allocation Prepare reports and presentations to communicate results and insights to senior leadership Create product collateral including Product Charters, case studies, and executive one-pagers Essential Job Duties & Functions Run stakeholder workshops and design sessions to drive product discovery and requirements gathering Own the product roadmap and actively communicate progress, blockers, and updates to leadership Apply hands-on data engineering knowledge to bridge technical and business teams effectively Present concrete examples of past product development work, demonstrating active, first-hand ownership Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, architecture, and business units Deliver usability tests, prototypes, and mockups to validate concepts early in the development cycle Knowledge & Skills Proficiency in data analysis, data warehousing, and data software architecture Hands-on software development experience including data modeling, ETL processes, CI/CD workflows, and error handling Strong understanding of product lifecycle management Experience with data visualization and reporting tools Demonstrated skills in product discovery, user research, and prototype testing Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including facilitation of workshops and executive presentations Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related analytical field (required) Master's degree in an analytical field (preferred) Proven experience in product management with a focus on data products and discovery Strong technical background with hands-on understanding of data engineering technologies and tools ...
