Job Description
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining data retrieval and storage infrastructure to support the university¿s strategic goals and decision-making. Responsibilities Responsible for managing, developing, and maintaining data. (30%) Collaborates with various campus constituencies in the management of data . Acquires, manipulates, develops, and maintains data sets. Imports and exports data through the CRM and other databases. Verifies accuracy and consistency over time in the context of evolving requirements regarding reporting of institutional data and supporting institutional needs. Designs, develops, and organizes data management plans through various department custodians. Works closely with academic units and other offices on campus to obtain and verify current data and information. Responsible for auditing of data collections to insure data integrity. Responsible for the creation of efficient processes that will support routinizing data management and reporting tasks. Serves as the technical expert for the CRM, assisting with the development and testing of new system modules and processes. (20%) Facilitates the successful creation and execution of multiple communication sequences, inclusive of electronic material, as well as monitor launched messaging for enrollment management. (20%) Manages requests regarding university data from internal and external stakeholders. (10%) Responds to inquiries about university data from internal and external stakeholders. Evaluates end user requests for data. Asks for clarification regarding these requests and creates appropriate queries against GSW data systems to produce appropriate tables or reports. Assists in the design, development, and production of new reports (10%). Transforms and recodes data into proper formats to support reporting efforts. Produces a variety of schedule and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, including, but not limited to Fact Book tables, the Common Data Set, and other reports on enrollment statistics, student retention, student performance metrics, enrollment projections, faculty and staff employment statistics. Performs a variety of related duties. (10%) Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Required Experience More than two years of related experience required. KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Oracle or other databases, data warehousing, and development tools used to manipulate, summarize, and produce reports from multiple, large, and complex data sets. Knowledge of university and departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access. Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL). SKILLS Skill in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Skill in prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and managing workflow to ensure multiple projects are completed. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Skill in collaboration and working with a wide range of constituencies.
