Full Job Description SQL Database Developer/Programmer Full-time:
6-month assignment
Location:
Warner Robins, GA Veterans First Initiative, LLC (VFI) is a U.S. Government Contractor and IT Services Integrator that delivers Network, Unified Communications, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity Engineering and Infrastructure Solutions on a global scale. VFI is certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). VFI seeks a full-time, experienced, professional SQL Database Developer/Programmer for a six-month assignment to evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, optimize, and maintain the Air Force Reserve Command's primary Support Agreement Management Tool and database that support the organization's applications, reporting needs, and operational workflows. The work includes both new development and enhancements to the existing system, with a focus on performance, data integrity, and scalability.

All candidates must possess active, current DoD Secret clearance.
Location:
Robins AFB/Warner Robins, GA Schedule:
Monday
  • Friday, weekends as needed
Travel:
Minimal, less than 10%
Duties and Responsibilities :
Identify and diagnose issues in the current database. Repair broken objects, relationships, queries, or processes. Improve performance through indexing, query tuning, and schema adjustments. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability. Implement best practices for security, backup, and recovery. Provide documentation and recommendations for long-term maintenance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Advanced SQL proficiency
  • Ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Database architecture expertise
  • Skilled in schema design, normalization, indexing strategies, and relational modeling. Experience with database repair and optimization
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve structural issues, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity problems. Proficiency with database platforms used by AFRC
  • Such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, depending on the SAM-ITS environment. Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity standards
  • Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, IA controls, and secure coding practices.
IAT Level II Certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M. Secret Security Clearance. SharePoint Administrator or Specialist capability with at least two (2) years of experience. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong communication and documentation skills. Compliance with DoD Information Assurance and cybersecurity protocols.
