Job Description

First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Data Architect to join the Data Development Operations Team.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM (hours may vary)
Compensation :
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000/yr; commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience. Bachelor of Science in computer science, data science, and software engineering or relevant field required Ten (10)+ years progressive, hands-on ETL Development or equivalent work experience required Five (5)+ specifically in related Business Intelligence and/or Data Engineering required Five (5)+ years of specific experience in Data Architecture required Five (5)+ years of extensive knowledge of complex SQL composition and troubleshooting required Five (5)+ years of experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, etc.) required •Required experience may be obtained concurrently. Master's degree in computer science, business management, or other relevant technical degree preferred 15+ years in ETL Development and Data Engineering preferred Five (5)+ years in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence implementation experience preferred Five (5)+ years in Banking experience or other relevant financial services experience preferred Certified Data Management Professional (DAMA) or equivalent data management certificate preferred Strong facilitation, interpersonal and consultative skills. Ability to develop and work with different constituencies in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Strong written and oral presentation skills. Excellent analytical skills and discernment. Initiative and 'Can Do' attitude required. Experience with business analysis and requirements gathering, systems, network and data design and development, protocols, standards, and information processing principles and practices. Experience with mentoring technical & business staff to help propagate the implementation and adoption of enterprise data architecture across the organization. Experience facilitating cross-functional teams. Strong capability in change management and conflict resolution. Expert in expectation setting, customer service, business analysis, costing/estimating and planning. Experience with CA-Data Modeler / ArchiMate / ErWin / Lucid / Visio. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of applications. The Data Architect Officer is responsible for developing and governing the Bank's batch data architecture, including defining standards, tools, and models that support secure, scalable, and efficient data capture, integration, storage, and delivery. This role identifies data-related business requirements, creates high level enterprise and sub architecture models, and optimizes data flows to reduce redundancy and improve accessibility within security boundaries. In addition, the Data Architect supports the Data Development team by designing and implementing ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter/IDMC, Oracle Database, ActiveBatch enterprise schedulers, and related technologies, contributing to requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Serving as a technical expert and mentor, this role provides architectural leadership, guidance, and best practices to ensure consistent, high quality data solutions across the organization.
