Job Description
A highly respected, global professional services organization is expanding its data and analytics platform and is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead enterprise wide data modeling and information architecture efforts. This full-time role is based in Chicago and focuses on designing how data is structured, related, and governed across a modern cloud based data ecosystem. This is a rare opportunity for a true data architecture leader; someone who enjoys defining standards, shaping semantic meaning, and creating durable models that guide engineering and analytics teams. The organization is moving from ad-hoc data development toward a scalable, domain-driven architecture, and this role will sit at the center of that transformation. Rather than building pipelines or writing code, this role owns the blueprint: defining core entities, relationships, metadata, and governance across dozens of business domains. You'll partner directly with technical leadership and business stakeholders to bring clarity and structure to a highly complex data landscape. The impact is immediate, visible, and long-lasting. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, or information architecture Deep experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models Strong background in domain-driven data modeling Expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) and entity resolution Experience with semantic modeling, ontology design, or taxonomy frameworks Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field Desired Skills & Experience Experience in modern cloud data platforms or Lakehouse architectures Familiarity with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Alation, Collibra, or similar tools Knowledge of modeling standards (ER, UML, RDF, OWL, SKOS) Consulting or enterprise transformation background Legal or financial services industry exposure Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 40% Enterprise data modeling & domain design 30% Metadata, governance, and semantic architecture 30% Architectural guidance & stakeholder collaboration Daily Responsibilities 60% Hands-on architecture & modeling work 20% Design reviews and technical guidance 20% Cross-team collaboration & leadership The Offer Bonus eligible You will receive the following benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Vacation Time Stock Options Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
