Hiring Agency Justice & Public Safety Cabinet | Department of Corrections Location 4000 Morgan Road La Grange, KY 40031 USA Description The mission of the Roederer Correctional Complex (RCC) is to provide humane program and service opportunities for offenders that will enhance their community re-integration and economic self- sufficiency; and that will be administered in a just and equitable manner within the least restrictive environment consistent with public, staff, and inmate safety. RCC is seeking candidates for an Offender Information Specialist I. This position performs sentencing calculations to determine parole eligibility and release of inmates as well as maintains offender inmates' records within the facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintain electronic information and manual filing systems for all female inmates files; admissions, active inmate, paroled, shock probation, serve-outs In-Active., Respond to request for information according to open records statutes. Review, implement, and process court order trips; calculate and compute inmate sentences; coordinate placement and removal of detainers. Implement all functions associated with receiving and discharging inmates to and from the Department of Corrections. Communicate with courts, county and state agencies, public, inmates, and institutional staff regarding inmates' official record. Interpret, adhere to, and enforce all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to inmate records. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Administrative, legal, paralegal, law enforcement, or offender records work experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE Working Conditions Work is typically performed in an office setting. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in
KRS 18A.111.
