Job Description:

A leading investment management firm is seeking a Data Governance Manager to help drive enterprise-wide data governance initiatives across a sophisticated private markets platform. This individual will play a key role in improving data quality, governance standards, reporting integrity, and operational scalability across investment, finance, and reporting functions. This is a highly visible opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of data, investment operations, analytics, and business strategy within a fast-paced financial services environment. Responsibilities Develop and enhance enterprise data governance frameworks, standards, and controls Partner with stakeholders across Investment Operations, Finance, Investor Relations, Technology, and Analytics teams Drive data quality initiatives, issue remediation, and governance best practices across critical business datasets Support metadata management, data lineage, and master/reference data governance initiatives Help improve reporting accuracy, accessibility, and operational efficiency across investment and management reporting processes Collaborate with technical teams to support scalable data architecture and reporting solutions Assist in establishing governance metrics, scorecards, and KPI tracking for enterprise data health Contribute to modernization initiatives involving automation, AI-enabled workflows, and data process optimization Support ongoing enhancement of data management and governance operating models across the organization Qualifications 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, investment operations, analytics, or related disciplines Experience within private equity, asset management, investment management, hedge funds, or broader financial services environments strongly preferred Strong understanding of data quality, governance controls, master data management (MDM), and reporting processes Experience working cross-functionally with both business and technical stakeholders Familiarity with governance and reporting tools such as Collibra, Alation, Profisee, Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, SQL, or similar technologies is a plus Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, data-intensive environment Preferred Experience Private markets or alternative investment data experience Investment reporting, portfolio analytics, or valuation data exposure Metadata management and data lineage experience Exposure to cloud data environments and modern data platforms Interest in AI-enabled data operations and process automation
