JOB SUMMARY
Trains and supports school staff in the school scheduling process, the system functionality used for student scheduling, and the use of a student data management system that includes taking daily and period attendance and all other data related needs. Provides in-service training to school and central office-based staff in various student information systems. topics such as student scheduling, attendance, student behavior, and other categories of student data collected and maintained by the Office of Student Data. Responds to data requests from schools, central office staff, and outside agencies as requested by supervisory staff. Additional Work Days/Hours Based on the assignment, the following additional work days and/or hours may be required as needed: Ability to work flexible schedules Outside of normal business hours
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides scheduling and grade reporting support to all schools. The manager will also prepares queries and other reports for school use. Communicates to schools the required processes and explanations of the processes for scheduling, grading, behavior, and attendance data collections and corrections. Works with schools on process improvements for scheduling, grading, behavior, and attendance data collections and corrections. Responsible for supporting schools with on-site trouble-shooting, as requested. Publishes procedural documents for major processes undertaken by secondary schools. Provides ongoing or advanced training to school-based staff, as requested. Along with creating and distributing training materials/information using multi-media delivery methods. Stays abreast of the newest versions and capabilities of current programs used to support the student data management system including PowerSchool, Parent Portal and PowerTeacher Pro and other programs as implemented or explored. Responsible for testing software versions/upgrades to ensure quality and correct implementation of new features in AACPS schools. Updates and maintains the accuracy of the school course list and grading policies/requirements stored in the student data management system. Supports the data quality effort of the Office of Student Data through policy and implementation compliance. Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Bachelor's Degree in education, research computer science, statistics or related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required; Master's Degree in education, research computer science, statistics or related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university preferred; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience Five (5) years professional experience within or working with staff of a school environment required; and Three (3) years experience in a supervisory or management role required; School-based administrative experience preferred. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics Working knowledge of best practices in program management, database administration, software quality assurance, and information management used to manage student information. Demonstrated ability to work well with others in day-to-day and high pressure situations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective training skills strongly desired. Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations. Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
