Nation's Security Job Description:

The EIS customer is looking to change the way the agency does business. At the heart of this transformation is the ServiceNow (SNOW) ITSM functionality for configuration management and workflows. An enterprise-wide system is being stood up to meet this challenge. As the team prototypes and builds the system, the on-premises database behind it will need support. However, there will also be potential areas to expand into by supporting ingest from other systems, building interfaces for external Source Systems of Record (SSOR) and more. While the ability to provide the general DB support is all that is required for this position, if you are looking for the opportunity to do more, we are confident that responsibility can gravitate to you. Keep the system healthy and learn while you are at it. ServiceNow CMDB knowledge is a plus, but not a requirement. Basic RDBMs knowledge is needed. This task is part of an 8-year program that will have legs and allow growth and long-term stability at an easy to access location. The Level 2 Database Engineer shall possess the following capabilities: Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development and/or maintenance efforts Support the development of long and short term requirements for database administration and design Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development Lead development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development Lead development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software Develop requirement recommendations from a project's inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems) Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls.

Qualifications:

Ten (10) years experience as a DE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Certifications Required:

Requires DoD 8570 compliance Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification. Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
