Job Description

  • GD163 Science and Data User Needs Coordinator
  • ADNET Systems is seeking a Science and Data User Needs Coordinator.
The position serves as the operational and analytical core working with the ESDIS User Needs Group, interfacing seamlessly across all ESDIS science, user, and stakeholder working groups. The successful candidate will leverage their organizational and analytical expertise to translate user community feedback into actionable development strategies, while ensuring the smooth operational cadence of the broader science enterprise.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Synthesis & Tool Enhancement:
Monitor, evaluate, and report monthly on emerging user trends across all stakeholder groups. Transform these insights into targeted, strategic recommendations for the ESDIS development teams to enhance user-facing tools and infrastructure. +
Stakeholder Alignment & Chartering:
Lead the drafting and finalization of public-facing group charters. This requires deep collaboration and negotiation with Science Group Leads and ESDIS to ensure accurate representation of group mandates. +
Meeting Facilitation & Intelligence Gathering:
Support the design and execution of high-level user group meetings across the ESDIS science enterprise. Transcribe technical minutes, distill complex discussions into concise executive summaries, and track actionable outcomes. +
Master Scheduling:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive, enterprise-wide calendar of all User Working Group events to guarantee cross-group alignment and prevent scheduling conflicts. +
Reporting Structure:
Report directly to the Science Enablement Lead to receive weekly strategic tasking, provide critical updates on deliverables, and brief leadership on the ongoing status, engagement, and health of all working groups within the environment.
  • Required:

S./B.S. computer science, physical or earth sciences or related data fields or remote sensing experience. + 5+ years experience working in Earth or related Data science or supporting users with satellite observations mission data + This work is hybrid at NASA GSFC and on-site attendance may be required to support meeting, or on-going activities of this task as needed + Excellent inter-personal and communications skills + Motivated individual with a keen sense for problem solving and ability to work with little supervision and as part of a team + Ability to work in a multi-task environment +
  • US Citizenship required.
  • + •Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.
