Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is currently looking for a degreed and experienced Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Operations & Master Data Management (MDM) Professional to fill a contract position in Meridian, MS.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Operations & Master Data Management (MDM) professionals are responsible for managing and optimizing the infrastructure and data related to advanced metering systems in utilities, such as electric, water, and gas companies. They ensure the efficient operation of AMI systems and the accurate handling of metering data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AMI
System Management :
Oversee the daily operations of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure, including meters, communication networks, data collection, and data storage systems.
Data Management:
Manage and maintain the master data related to meters, including customer account information, meter IDs, and associated metadata.
Data Collection and Analysis :
Monitor and analyze data collected from smart meters to identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
Meter Deployment :
Plan and coordinate the deployment of smart meters, ensuring that meters are installed correctly and function as intended.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting :
Address hardware and software issues related to AMI systems promptly to minimize downtime and data inaccuracies.
Data Quality Assurance :
Implement data validation and quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of metering data.
Security :
Implement and maintain security measures to protect metering data from unauthorized access or cyber threats.
Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure that the AMI system and data management practices comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Reporting :
Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into metering data and system performance.
Integration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and customer service, to integrate AMI data into business processes and customer interactions.
Vendor Management:
Work with vendors and service providers to procure equipment, software, and services related to AMI operations and MDM.
Training :
Train and educate staff members on AMI system usage, data management best practices, and cybersecurity protocols.
Continuous Improvement :
Identify opportunities for system enhancements, process improvements, and cost reductions within the AMI and MDM operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education :
A bachelors degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field is often required. Advanced degrees or certifications in AMI technology may be preferred.
Experience :
Several years of experience in AMI operations, data management, or utility operations is typically required, with a demonstrated understanding of AMI technologies and protocols.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in AMI system technologies, data management tools, and cybersecurity practices is essential.
Analytical Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to interpret metering data and identify issues.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with utility industry regulations and standards related to AMI and data management is valuable.
Communication :
Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
Project Management:
Experience in project management may be beneficial, especially for larger-scale AMI deployments and upgrades. Attention to
