Job Description

An NCSIS Data Manager is a vital school-level role focused on maintaining student records and ensuring compliance with state requirements. They manage the North Carolina Student Information System (NCSIS/Infinite Campus), oversee daily attendance, scheduling, and grading, and generate mandatory reports for the Department of Public Instruction.
Key Responsibilities Data Management & Entry:
Accurately input and maintain student demographics, emergency contacts, medical records, and attendance data.
State Reporting:
Run, edit, reconcile, and approve required state reports to ensure compliance with the Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
Academic & Disciplinary Records:
Generate report cards, manage student cumulative records, and record student disciplinary actions.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Prefers a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data management, office support, or a computer-based record-keeping environment.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with computer-based systems, Google Suite, and Excel. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to audit records, identify errors, and maintain strict student data privacy and confidentiality.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to assist families with enrollments and collaborate with teachers. Considerable knowledge of general office procedures and processes; Excellent customer service skills; Effective time management skills; Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; Ability to work in a team environment; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents, external agencies, vendors, and the community; Performs a variety of general office duties to support the activities of a school or office, including receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors, processing incoming and outgoing mail, assisting other staff, responding to requests for information, maintaining and updating records, and preparing documents; Notifies employees of visitors, mail, or other materials waiting in a central location; Assists administrators and other staff with typing and word-processing tasks; Supervises and responds to the needs of students and makes contact with parents and guardians, as needed; Performs other related duties, as assigned; This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers
