Manager of Data Systems (SIS & Dashboards) Position Summary The Manager of Data Systems (SIS & Dashboards) is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the district's Student Information System (SIS) and data dashboard platforms. This role ensures that core data systems are accurate, reliable, and accessible, and that dashboards provide real-time, actionable insights to support school and district decision-making. The Manager oversees system functionality, data integration, user support, and dashboard development to ensure that data systems effectively support enrollment, attendance, performance monitoring, and operational reporting. This position serves as the district's technical lead for SIS and dashboard systems, ensuring that data infrastructure supports accountability, School Stat, and strategic planning efforts. Certification Requirements (NJDOE-Aligned) Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, data analytics, computer science, education, or related field Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status A valid driver's license or state issued ID, valid insurance and registration Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
Master's Degree preferred Experience with student information systems (e.g., Genesis or equivalent) Certification or training in data systems, database management, or analytics platforms Qualifications Minimum:
Five (5) years of experience in data systems, SIS administration, or data management Three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred Demonstrated expertise in: Student Information Systems (SIS) administration Data integration and system management Dashboard development and data visualization Strong knowledge of: Data governance and data quality standards Educational data systems and reporting needs Experience supporting multiple stakeholders with data access and reporting A valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status Core Responsibilities Student Information System (SIS) Management Oversee the administration and functionality of the district's SIS. Manage daily operation of the SIS, including student records, enrollment, attendance, and scheduling data Ensure system accuracy, reliability, and security Coordinate system updates, configurations, and enhancements Serve as primary liaison with SIS vendors Data Integrity and System Accuracy Ensure high levels of data accuracy across all systems. Monitor and validate data quality within SIS and related systems Identify and resolve data discrepancies Establish data entry standards and protocols Conduct regular data audits Dashboard Development and Data Visualization Oversee the design and implementation of district dashboards. Develop dashboards aligned to School Stat and district priorities Ensure dashboards provide real-time, actionable data Support customization of dashboards for schools and departments Improve usability and accessibility of reporting tools Data Integration and System Alignment Ensure seamless integration between SIS and other data systems. Coordinate data flow between SIS, enrollment systems, assessment platforms, and reporting tools Support integration with district data warehouse or analytics platforms Ensure consistency across systems User Support and Training Provide support and training for SIS and dashboard users. Train school and district staff on system use and best practices Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting Develop user guides and documentation Ensure high levels of system adoption and effective use Support for Enrollment, Attendance, and Performance Systems Ensure data systems support key district functions. Support enrollment data accuracy and reporting Ensure attendance data is timely and accurate Align systems to support performance monitoring and School Stat Data Governance and Compliance Ensure all systems comply with data privacy and governance requirements. Maintain compliance with FERPA and district policies Establish data governance protocols Ensure secure access and use of data Collaboration with Data and Enrollment Teams (NES Integration) Support alignment across Data, Enrollment, and Accountability systems. Collaborate with Director of Enrollment Strategy & Forecasting Support data needs for accountability reporting Align systems with district data strategy Continuous Improvement and System Innovation Lead ongoing improvement of data systems and tools. Identify opportunities to improve system functionality and efficiency Implement new technologies and tools Promote innovation in data access and reporting Other Duties Perform such other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee in accordance with law and regulation. $90,000.00 Maximum Starting Salary:
$115,000.00 Residency Requirement Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
