Senior Director of Data Systems, Analytics & Accountability Position Summary The Senior Director of Data Systems, Analytics & Accountability is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the district's data systems, analytics infrastructure, and accountability reporting processes. This role ensures that all district data is accurate, accessible, and actionable, and that reporting systems effectively support performance management, instructional improvement, and compliance requirements. The Senior Director oversees the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and data systems that support School Stat, district leadership, and school-based decision-making. This role ensures that data is transformed into meaningful insights and that accountability systems are clear, consistent, and aligned to district priorities. This position plays a critical role in operationalizing the district's data strategy by connecting data systems to performance outcomes and ensuring that leaders at all levels have the information needed to drive improvement. Five (5) years of experience in data systems, analytics, or reporting Three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience Demonstrated expertise in: Data systems and database management Data visualization and dashboard development Accountability reporting and performance metrics Strong knowledge of: Educational data systems and reporting requirements Data governance and privacy practices Experience supporting leadership decision-making through data Core Responsibilities Data Systems Design and Management Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of district data systems. Ensure data systems are accurate, reliable, and user-friendly Manage data integration across platforms and systems Support development of data infrastructure aligned to district needs Ensure accessibility of data for all stakeholders Data Analytics and Insight Development Lead the analysis of district data to support decision-making. Analyze student performance, attendance, and operational data Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement Provide actionable insights to district and school leaders Support predictive and strategic data analysis Dashboard Development and Reporting Tools Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting systems for all levels of the organization. Design dashboards aligned to School Stat and district priorities Ensure real-time access to key performance indicators Support user training and adoption of data tools Continuously improve reporting systems based on user needs Accountability Reporting Systems Oversee all district accountability reporting processes. Develop and manage reporting aligned to district and state requirements Establish clear performance metrics and indicators Ensure consistency and clarity in reporting across departments Prepare reports for Superintendent, Advisory Board, and stakeholders School Stat and Performance Monitoring Support Support the implementation of School Stat and performance management systems. Ensure timely and accurate data for monthly performance reviews Support analysis of school performance data Provide insights that inform action planning and accountability Data Governance and Compliance Ensure all data systems comply with legal and ethical standards. Maintain compliance with FERPA and data privacy laws Establish data governance policies and procedures Ensure data security and integrity Cross-Departmental Data Integration (NES Alignment) Ensure data systems support all district functions. Collaborate with Instruction, Talent, Finance, and Operations Align data systems to district strategic priorities Support integration of multiple data sources into cohesive systems Team Leadership and Capacity Building Lead and develop the data systems and analytics team. Supervise staff and establish clear expectations Provide training and professional development Build internal capacity for data use across the district Continuous Improvement and Innovation Lead ongoing improvement of data systems and processes. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness Implement new tools, technologies, and practices Promote innovation in data use and reporting Other Duties Perform such other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee in accordance with law and regulation. $120,000.00 Maximum Starting Salary:
$150,000.00 Residency Requirement Under New Jersey's "New Jersey First Act" (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all employees of New Jersey public school districts must maintain bona fide New Jersey residency as a condition of employment. Candidates must already reside in New Jersey or establish residency within the required timeframe after hire. Current employees who were hired on or before September 1, 2011 are exempt from this requirement and may continue to reside outside the state. In limited circumstances, applicants may request a residency waiver through the state's Employee Residency Review Committee if they can demonstrate critical need or hardship; approval is not guaranteed.
