Job Description
Data Product Manager, Specialist Join Vanguard's IT Data & Analytics organization as a Data Product Manager, where you will own and drive the strategy, delivery, and adoption of enterprise data products that enable decision-making across IT and business partners. You will work at the intersection of IT leadership, analytics, data engineering, and governance to translate strategic priorities into trusted, scalable data products. This role requires strong product thinking, business acumen, and the ability to influence across teams in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle of data products (e.g., curated datasets, KPI/metric layers, executive insights, data quality products).
- Partner with IT leaders, analytics teams, and data engineers to translate business needs into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs.
- Drive standardization of key metrics and definitions to enable consistent, decision-ready insights across IT.
- Ensure data products meet enterprise standards for quality, security, governance, and auditability.
- Lead cross-functional delivery from discovery through production, including release planning and ongoing optimization.
- Measure and drive adoption, usage, and value realization of data products.
- Communicate product strategy, progress, and insights to IT executive stakeholders and senior management.
- Continuously improve data product ways of working, leveraging agile and product management best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technical product management, with at least 2 years leading large cross-functional teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required; graduate degree preferred.
- Good to have skills in product lifecycle management, market analysis, product design, user experience evaluation, technical documentation, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration. Technical knowledge in software development processes, APIs, cloud platforms, or data-driven product environments is important.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project execution skills.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Pragmatic Institute Product Management Certifications, or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).
