Data Strategy Manager Bishop & Company is searching for a Data Strategy Manager for a community organization. This position leads the development, oversight, and continuous improvement of data strategy, reporting, and analysis for the community helpline. This role ensures that the data is accurate, accessible, and meaningful for internal planning, funder reporting, community insights, and organizational decision-making. •Please note only Oahu residents will be considered at this time•Working closely with leadership and cross-functional partners, the Data Strategy Manager translates complex data into actionable information, strengthens reporting systems and data governance practices, and helps position the data as a strategic asset for program improvement, advocacy, and community impact. This position requires strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and the ability to manage projects, systems, and reporting priorities with a high degree of independence.
Responsibilities:
Data Strategy, Governance Develop and implement a data strategy for the community help phone line that supports organizational priorities, operational effectiveness, and external reporting needs. Establish and maintain data standards, definitions, workflows, and documentation to promote data quality, consistency, confidentiality, and appropriate use. Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and system functionality. Exercise independent judgment in shaping reporting methods, data interpretation, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive, proprietary, and personally identifiable information in accordance with organizational policies, funder requirements, data-sharing agreements, and applicable laws and regulations. Reporting, Analysis Design and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and recurring reports related to service trends, community needs, program outcomes, and operational performance. Analyze calls and related data to identify trends, gaps, unmet needs, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for leadership, funders, board members, partners, and public-facing communications. Present complex information in a clear and useful way for both technical and non-technical audiences. Support planning, fundraising, advocacy, and decision-making through timely and meaningful analysis. Systems and Project Leadership Oversee the functional use of data and reporting systems related to the call operations, including CRM, call center, and dashboard platforms. Coordinate with staff, vendors, and consultants to improve reporting capabilities, system integrations, and data reliability. Lead data-related projects such as reporting enhancements, data clean-up efforts, workflow improvements, and system changes. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, data dictionaries, and reporting resources. Community Insight and Organizational Support Integrate call data with external sources such as Census, labor, and other public datasets to strengthen community analysis. Produce maps, infographics, presentations, and other materials that communicate community trends and organizational impact. Partner with leadership to support strategy, policy, advocacy, and system-level planning through data-informed insights. Represent Call Center in external data collaboratives, workgroups, or partner meetings as assigned. Provide guidance and project oversight to interns, fellows, or temporary support involved in data-related work. Other Duties Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with organization policies and applicable law. Participate in cross-departmental projects and other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in data science, public policy, social sciences, information systems, or related field preferred. At least 2-4 years of experience in data management, reporting, or analysis, preferably in nonprofit, government, or social services. Skills & Knowledge Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong knowledge of data management, reporting, visualization, and quality assurance practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel, and Google Workspace. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools. Experience with Salesforce or other CRM/database systems strongly preferred. Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools preferred. Ability to communicate data clearly and effectively to varied audiences. Strong organizational, written, verbal, and project management skills. Knowledge of social services, community data, or information and referral systems is preferred. Other Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must pass a background and drug test. Work Environment This is a hybrid role that includes a combination of office-based work and remote work, with regular in-person meetings, trainings, and occasional attendance at partner or community locations as needed. The position requires extensive computer-based work and collaboration across departments and external stakeholders. Work Hours This is a full-time position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Occasionally early morning, evening, or weekend hours may be required to support organizational needs, meetings, training, reporting deadlines, or special projects. Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $62K-$68K annually. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
