Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing EquityUnder the general supervision of the Immunization Information System (IIS) Operations Manager (Program Coordinator I), serves as the IIS Interoperability Manager (Program Coordinator I) and oversees Immunization Information System interoperability efforts throughout the immunization program. Collaborates with regional and central office staff to assure effectiveness and efficiency in provision of services. Participates as a member of the Immunization Data and Information Systems Unit. Assure compliance with immunization laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Onboarding:

Recruit stakeholders to establish or enhance interoperability with IIS. Oversee initial round of interface testing to review technical construct and content of Health Level 7 (HL7) message. Works directly with Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendor/provider to review acknowledgement messages and resolve issues. Oversee secondary testing to review programmatic data content of messages and identify anomalies in reported data. Work directly with the provider and/or EHR vendor to review messages holistically and resolve issues.

Interface Monitoring:

Identify trends that may indicate that an individual practice may be having issues with their electronic interface, and work with the practice to resolve issues and improve workflows/dataflows. Identify trends that may indicate a larger problem with data in the IIS and work with the interoperability and/or IIS vendor to identify the root cause(s) and correct the issue(s). Review vital records data feed and resolve issues in a timely manner.

User Support:

Assist with help desk operations.

IIS Project:

Participates in the testing, training, implementation, operations and maintenance of the South Carolina's IIS -- Statewide Immunization Online Network (SIMON). Other duties including public health preparedness activities during hazardous weather or declaration of emergency as outlined in the DPH Emergency plans.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

State Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

HYBRID WORK
