Your impact The Lead Architect - Data Center serves as the Architectural Discipline Lead for mission critical data center projects, accountable for architectural design excellence, coordination, and delivery from concept through construction. The role requires independent technical judgment, leadership of architectural teams, and direct engagement with clients and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and operationally efficient facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical and Team Leadership Lead architectural design for complex, large-scale data center projects from feasibility and concept through IFC and construction support. Establish and maintain architectural design intent, standards, and compliance with client requirements, codes, and operational criteria. Approve architectural drawings, specifications, and technical submissions prior to issue. Resolve complex architectural and interdisciplinary design challenges independently. Lead and manage architectural teams across one or multiple projects, including architects and designers. Plan, assign, and review work to ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery. Provide technical mentorship and professional development for junior staff. Support performance reviews and capability development within the architectural discipline. Project Delivery & Commercial Responsibility Accountable for architectural discipline scope, schedule, quality, and budget on assigned projects. Act as the primary architectural point of contact for clients, operators, authorities, and external consultants. Lead architectural design reviews, client workshops, and authority submissions. Represent Jacobs in high-level technical and design discussions. Contribute to fee proposals, resource planning, and workshare strategies. Identify and manage technical, coordination, and delivery risks. Support change management, claims avoidance, and value engineering initiatives. Construction and Commissioning Support Oversee architectural support during construction, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site inspections, and design clarifications. Ensure architectural intent is maintained through construction and commissioning. Here's what you'll need Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.Registered / Licensed
Architect (local or internationally recognized). Preferably 12+ years of architectural experience, including mission-critical, industrial, or complex building projects. Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM-based delivery. Desired experience & skills: Proven experience leading architectural teams on data center or critical infrastructure projects. Familiarity with international data center standards and global codes. Strong coordination, communication, and client-facing skills.
