Job Description

Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart. The Opportunity The enterprise infrastructure market is in the middle of its most significant realignment in a decade. Customers are rethinking their hypervisor strategy, modernizing storage architectures, and refactoring their hybrid IT strategy. Nutanix sits at the center of that shift. Global 2000 buyers want the operational simplicity of Nutanix Cloud Platform — but they want to do it on the hundreds of millions of dollars already invested in external storage arrays and industry-standard servers, and they are simultaneously standing up new estates for AI training, containerized compute, and disaggregated SDS. You will own the product strategy for the core data plane underneath that entire motion: a fast, reliable, modern data layer that powers multiple Nutanix product lines, and the integration layer that lets AHV consume capacity from third-party storage arrays without giving up the Nutanix experience. This is the rare core-platform PM role where the surface area is genuinely broad and the technical leverage is enormous. About the Team At Nutanix, you will be joining the Product Management team, a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to innovating and enhancing our product offerings. The team is geo-dispersed, allowing for a diverse range of perspectives and expertise to come together. Our culture is rooted in collaboration, where open communication and teamwork are encouraged, fostering an environment that inspires creativity and drives success. You will report to a seasoned manager who is passionate about mentoring and empowering team members to reach their full potential. The work setup is hybrid, requiring you to come into the office three days a week to facilitate collaboration and team engagement, while still allowing flexibility for remote work. Travel requirements for this role are as needed, providing opportunities for on-site meetings and collaboration with global colleagues and partners when necessary. Your Role Lead product definition for Nutanix's next-generation data infrastructure — the data layer underneath external storage attachments for virtualization datastores, disaggregated SDS for AI training pipelines, and modern containerized compute. Define and drive the strategy for AHV integration with external storage arrays via open, standards-based protocols, delivering VM-centric management on disaggregated infrastructure (offload snapshots, clones, and other data services to the array while preserving the operator experience customers expect). Ensure first-class support for core Nutanix Cloud Platform capabilities. Run continuous market discovery across very different customer segments — virtualization, AI/ML infrastructure, cloud-native platforms, and disaggregated hybrid cloud — and translate sometimes-conflicting requirements into a coherent product direction. Build the partner motion with the major server and storage
OEMs:
lead joint roadmap conversations, define integration contracts, and manage the lifecycle of each integration from design through GA and EOL. Define and operationalize a continuous certification program — tools, processes, lab infrastructure, and partner workflows — that lets Nutanix certify against new external storage arrays from every major OEM at the speed the market actually requires. Make the hard prioritization calls. Weigh technical constraints, engineering investment, GTM readiness, and corporate strategy, and defend decisions with data and conviction. Be the connective tissue between deep engineering, hardware partners, GTM, and customers — translating fluently in every direction to reduce switching costs for Global 2000 buyers and make Nutanix the default choice for disaggregated hybrid cloud. What You Will Bring 6+ years in product management, with substantial depth in storage, distributed systems, virtualization, or core infrastructure software. Deep working knowledge of storage protocols (NVMe-oF, NFS, FC) and the data services exposed by modern enterprise arrays.
Strong technical foundation:
you can read a design doc on a distributed consensus algorithm, push back on it, and explain the implications to a sales leader the same afternoon. A track record of running ecosystem and partner-driven product motions — you have negotiated integrations with vendors who are simultaneously partners and competitors, and you know how to make those relationships productive. Experience building partner certification or compatibility programs is a major plus. Experience defining products that serve multiple use cases without becoming incoherent. You know how to keep a platform sharp. The instinct to talk to customers constantly and translate their pain into shippable requirements. Bias to action, comfort with ambiguity, and a real opinion about what good infrastructure software looks like.
Work Arrangement Hybrid:
This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. Workplace type may vary based on location and team requirements. Please speak with your recruiter for details. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 189,600 and USD $ 380,400 per year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Our application deadline is 40 days from the date of posting. In good faith, the posting may be removed prior to this date if the position is filled or extended in good faith. --
