Cybersecurity / Data Protection / Utilities About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Solutions Architect III•Data Security to join our Cybersecurity organization. This is a strategic, high-impact hybrid role that combines deep technical expertise in data protection with oversight and architectural leadership . As a Principal Architect, you will design and lead secure data frameworks across our cloud and AI ecosystems, with a strong focus on Snowflake, Microsoft Defender, Azure Purview, DLP tools , and modern AI-centric security practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Security Engineering, Data Governance, Cloud Ops, and AI/ML. Key Responsibilities Define and lead the enterprise data protection strategy across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources. Deploy and manage Azure Purview for data classification and insider risk management. Guide secure implementation of AI Data Pipelines including RAG, Vector DBs, and SQL Transparent Data Encryption (TDE). Evaluate and apply modern cryptographic techniques like Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) and Differential Privacy (DP) for LLM pipelines. Architect legacy data remediation strategies including de-duplication, archiving, and long-term retention policy optimization. Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules across Microsoft 365, endpoints, email, SharePoint, and cloud storage. Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure architecture, threat models, and incident response playbooks. Drive automation and integration of third-party tools for data discovery, classification, tokenization, and monitoring. Define the enterprise-wide Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) strategy and architecture. Author and maintain data incident response protocols and playbooks . Comply with internal policies and regulatory standards such asNERC, SOX, CCPA, GDPR
. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience in Information Security or Data Architecture roles. Proven track record leading data protection initiatives in cloud and hybrid environments . Preferred Qualifications Experience in utilities or highly regulated industries . Hands-on with Snowflake , Microsoft Defender , Azure Purview , and enterprise DLP tools . Strong background in data engineering and AI/ML security patterns . Experience with LLM security and responsible AI frameworks . Familiarity with structured data protection in data lakes or Azure Synapse. Involvement in legacy data cleanup (e.g., tape archive migration). Experience with DSPM platforms . Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, SANS, or Azure Security . Deep understanding of cryptography , modern encryption standards, and quantum-resilient security approaches. Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills. Demonstrated ability to balance security, usability, and operational efficiency . Passion for AI safety, ethical data stewardship , and future-proofing sensitive workloads.
