Data Architect

Description We're seeking a contract hands-on Data Architect to drive data strategy, architecture, and migration efforts within a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative. This role will play a critical part in transitioning from a legacy on-premise ERP system to a modern SaaS-based platform, ensuring data integrity, governance, and long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Strategy & Architecture + Define enterprise data architecture aligned to SaaS ERP + Develop data models and enforce standards/governance + Translate business needs into scalable data solutions Data Migration & Conversion + Lead ERP data migration (profiling, mapping, cleansing, cutover) + Ensure data accuracy through validation and reconciliation + Establish data lineage, security, and lifecycle standards Data Governance & Quality + Implement governance framework and data ownership model + Monitor data quality and drive remediation processes + Align business rules and manage data access controls Integrations & Ecosystem + Design integrations across enterprise systems + Define APIs, data flows, and middleware patterns + Ensure scalability, performance, and security Analytics & Reporting Enablement + Enable data structures for reporting, analytics, and AI + Support BI and self-service reporting capabilities + Maintain data models and cataloging standards Leadership & Delivery + Act as data SME for the transformation program + Partner with stakeholders and delivery teams + Mentor team members and align data strategy to business goals Requirements Required Qualifications + 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles + Hands-on experience leading ERP data migration initiatives + Expertise in: + Data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) + ETL/ELT processes and tools + Data governance and data quality frameworks + SQL, data warehousing, and cloud data platforms + Experience with integration patterns (APIs, middleware, event-driven architecture) + Experience building self-service analytics/reporting environments + Extensive analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills + Excellent communication and leadership abilities Preferred Qualifications + Experience supporting enterprise SaaS transformations + Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) + Experience enabling "data as a strategic asset" initiatives + Exposure to regulated reporting or compliance-driven environments Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
