Position Overview This role serves as the Agency's technical expert and primary Records Custodian. You will manage the lifecycle of official documents-from creation through archiving and disposal-while ensuring full compliance with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) policies. This position also provides essential support for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program and general office administration. Responsibilities Act as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for USTDA's Central Agency Files (CAF), managing file structure, scanning, indexing, and quality control. Serve as the technical expert interacting with NARA to ensure the compliant transfer and archiving of electronic and physical records. Receive, track, and process FOIA requests, including redacting sensitive information and drafting response letters. Develop records management schedules, conduct annual file clean-up days, and provide onboarding/offboarding records briefings to government staff. Update and maintain electronic data within the Project Management Information System (PIMS), SharePoint, and other databases. Provide on-site technical assistance, including troubleshooting audiovisual equipment and connectivity for events in the Business Center. Prepare data and draft responses for the annual Records Management Self-Assessment and other required federal reports.
Required Skills and Experience Experience:
At least 10 years of related professional work experience. At least 5 years specifically in records management, including FOIA information management. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong database management, word processing, and data entry skills. Ability to troubleshoot AV equipment (microphones, monitors, and presentations). Physical ability to move a large number of files and/or heavy file boxes. Preferred Skills and Experience Professional Records Management training or certification. Experience in administrative areas such as office management, HR support, or facilities management. Education College degree required in Business, Information Management, or a related field. Clearance Requirements U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance. Work Location Arlington, VA (USTDA Headquarters) Compensation The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $105,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
