Job Description
Plans and manages the day-to-day operations of library support services including activities related to accounting, acquisition, original and copy cataloging, processing, shipping, and receiving of library materials used by schools and administrative offices; designs, implements, assesses and revises library support activities required to carry out the mission of the section.

No Qualifications:
Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in library science or a related field. Four (4) years of experience in library science, two (2) years of which shall have been in an oversight or supervisory role. Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Knowledge of the theory, practices, and resources associated with the field of library science and its administration. Knowledge of related laws, regulations, and policies. Skill in technology used in libraries and library support services. Skill in personnel, financial, and administrative management. Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting. Ability to plan, manage, and supervise programs and personnel. Ability to plan and lead professional development activities. Ability to effectively lead teams in multiple projects. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships across the Division. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred Master's degree. $92,420 - $157,268Major Duties/Essential Functions:
Supervises and has primary responsibility and accountability for the daily operations of library support services (LSS) activities. Manages technological operations, including making digital and print library collections (eBooks and databases) available to students, staff, and the community. Creates, assesses, and revises significant end-user documentation and vendor information in a library management program for the use of school-based librarians and LSS staff. Manages the approval process for divisionwide library resource purchases ensuring all transactions adhere to procurement guidelines. Coordinates and manages special purchases of library resources for school and administrative offices. Designs, assesses, and implements solutions to meet the requirements of special projects. Manages and assesses program goals and workflows, and establishes work priorities. Collaborates with the management team to implement program changes in LSS to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Tracks and monitors LSS budget and provides recommendations and advice related to budget development. Conducts analysis and reconciliation of financial records with library accounts, professional reference accounts, federal accounts, and library allocations; reports discrepancies. Manages data compilation, analysis, and reporting for evaluation and future planning. Presents information and recommendations to senior management team. Trains school-based staff on use of the integrated library management program and ordering, processing, and organization of library resources. Drafts and recommends improvements, modifications, and/or new policies, programs, or systems related to LSS. Engages appropriate stakeholders, including through facilitation of meetings, to identify and clarify needs and recommend solutions. Develops and maintains working relationships with school, county, and outside agency personnel. Leads the process for vendor selection and manages implementation of contracts and contract renewals. Manages the work of vendors or contractors. Performs related duties as required or assigned.Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
