  • Your role and responsibilities
  • The Data Architect:
    Under the general supervision, may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance database architectures to support PVAAMS modernization
  • Define data models and storage strategies aligned with cloud migration goals
  • Optimize performance, availability, and disaster recovery across environments
  • Collaborate with IBM IVM team to identify data needs for use stories and update unified data model
  • Leverage data lake to capture functionality-specific data
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and retention policies
  • Document database designs, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Required technical and professional expertise
  • Must possess at time of hire and have the ability to maintain a Top-Secret Clearance
  • 5+ years in database architecture or engineering roles
  • Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with performance tuning and high-availability configurations
  • Skilled in data modeling and schema design for modernized systems
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services and migration strategies
  • Strong understanding of data security and access controls
  • Proficient in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Bachelors in CS, IS, or related field
  • Preferred technical and professional experience
  • 5+ years experience with cloud-native and hybrid data architectures
  • 3+ years working with data governance and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with automation tools for database deployment and monitoring
  • Master's degree or certification (e.
