Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a GIS Sr. Product Designer for a top utility/energy industry client. This individual will play a critical role in designing sophisticated GIS-driven products used in real-world, mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with a passion for spatial design, strong product instincts, and the ability to turn complex data into clear, usable experiences. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver production-ready solutions that balance user needs, technical constraints, and business outcomes in a fast-paced, agile environment. Day-to-Day Design and prototype high-quality GIS and map-based product experiences Partner closely with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into intuitive solutions Maintain and evolve a scalable design system across multiple products Conduct and synthesize user research to inform design decisions Create detailed user flows, journey maps, and interaction models Present design concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders Iterate rapidly based on feedback and usability findings Ensure designs meet accessibility, usability, and performance standards We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Expert-level experience designing and prototyping in Figma, including high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes Strong GIS and mapping design background, ideally with ESRI / ArcGIS platforms Proven experience designing complex spatial interfaces, map-based workflows, and data-dense visualizations Deep expertise building and maintaining design systems across multiple products Strong understanding of accessibility standards, scalability, and design-to-engineering handoff Demonstrated experience conducting user research (usability testing, interviews, synthesis) Ability to create end-to-end journey maps and well-researched personas Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting design rationale Agile mindset with the ability to iterate quickly while maintaining high design quality Ability to share a strong design portfolio with recent, production-ready work Hands-on experience with utility, energy, or regulated industries Familiarity designing for field operations or mission-critical systems Strong product management skills, including requirements definition and prioritization Experience collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders Background in operational or real-world GIS use cases
