Job Summary Join a dynamic team at a world-class institution, where you'll combine fieldwork and office tasks to create comprehensive campus maps. This internship involves using state-of-the-art surveying equipment and aerial imagery to map key campus features, including roads, pathways, planting beds, water features, and other landscape elements. You'll employ cutting-edge software such as ESRI, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD, as well as other interactive applications, to produce high-quality maps for various projects. Additionally, you'll capture 360-degree photos of building interiors, contributing to an integrated GIS and collections data system. Essential Duties Performs mapping and analysis using ArcGIS and AutoCAD software Generate the campus basemap by converting the civil survey CAD file into a GIS shapefile Utilize geoprocessing tools to update and enhance existing databases Support the Planning and Design team with mapping and data visualization tasks Perform other related duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Currently enrolled in college Proficiency in ArcGIS software Preferred Qualifications Strong ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively Preferably a junior or senior with coursework or experience in GIS, geography, urban planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Required Documents Resume To be considered for this position please visit our web site and apply on line at the following link: https://hr.caltech.edu/work/job_openings We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
