GIS Technician/ Draftsman

Summary:

This dual-role position supports both the GIS Department and the County Engineering/Planning Office. The employee performs professional Geographic Information Systems (GIS) duties including spatial data management, analysis, and map production, while also providing computer aided drafting services to the County Engineer through the preparation of technical drawings and details using AutoCAD. This position reports administratively to the GIS Director, who serves as the employee's primary supervisor and is responsible for overall position oversight and evaluation. The employee receives GIS assignments and project direction from the GIS Director and may also receive technical drafting assignments and project direction from the County Engineer in support of Engineering projects. While the position may perform work that supports multiple County departments, the employee's primary reporting supervisor and administrative authority remains the GIS Director . The position also coordinates work priorities between the GIS and Engineering functions to ensure County operational needs are met.
