JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for). This role is a backfill for two team members who are moving to a long‑term consolidation project (approximately 3 years). The contractor will support the team's normal day‑to‑day workload, which includes extracting data for other internal teams, responding to regulatory data requests, creating specialized and interactive maps using Esri products, and performing data analysis using various tools such as Databricks. 2. What does a typical day look like? Work is assigned through JIRA boards, where tasks are prioritized from highest to lowest. Tasks vary significantly in complexity and duration—some may take 30 minutes, while others may take several days. New team members will initially handle simpler data extraction tasks, with more complex analysis and mapping work added as familiarity increases. The expectation is that individuals complete one assigned task before moving to the next 6. Describe work environment / team culture (supportive/collaborative, teamwork or individual contributor)? GIS, Geography, or Geospatial background preferred Utility experience (gas or electric) highly desirable Looking for 3-7 years experience 4. Utility firms (gas/electric distribution or transmission) CenterPoint PG&E Previous Xcel Energy experience can be positive or neutral depending on context. 5. Are there any certifications that the candidate must possess? No certifications required. Degree in Geography, GIS or related field. 6. Are there any preferred or "nice to have" skills? Client Smallworld MAGIC SAP Prior utility or contractor experience supporting Xcel Energy (These significantly increase interview likelihood but are not required.) 1. What is the location of the contract assignment (Full time onsite, hybrid•percent of time on site/home or, are you open to fully remote)? If the resource is expected to be onsite, can you confirm if the resource can park on Xcel property/in the ramp?
