GIS & Remote Sensing Analyst Developer MassAutonomy Boston, MA Job Details Full-time | Contract $40 - $65 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications AI models Performance dashboard reports Application Integration Dashboard development Teamwork Enterprise software Automation software Dashboard creation support Reporting and dashboarding tools Machine intelligence JavaScript SDKs LiDAR GIS software Remote Pilot Certificate Remote sensing observations Python Full Job Description About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled GIS & Remote Sensing Analyst with hands-on expertise in drone imagery and LiDAR data processing to join our growing Aeronautics Data & Analytics team. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-impact geospatial intelligence solutions for infrastructure, utilities, transportation, and environmental stakeholders. In this fast-paced, stakeholder-focused environment, you will transform raw UAS and LiDAR datasets into actionable insights, 3D models, and enterprise-ready applications. You will collaborate closely with engineers, planners, data scientists, and technical stakeholders to solve complex spatial challenges using advanced GIS software and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain end-to-end drone data workflows, including: Orthomosaic generation LiDAR classification and surface modeling 3D mesh and digital twin production Design and deploy custom geospatial applications tailored to stakeholder needs. Perform advanced spatial analysis to extract actionable insights from geospatial datasets.
Deliver client-ready geospatial products supporting:
Transportation corridor inspections Vegetation management and encroachment analysis Airport obstacle clearance and obstruction surveys Asset digitization and 3D modeling Automate data processing workflows using Python, ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, or cloud-native pipelines. Work across GIS platforms (desktop, enterprise, and cloud) to produce integrated, scalable outputs.
Communicate results effectively through:
Interactive dashboards Technical reports Client briefings and presentations Contribute to proposal development, technical documentation, and project planning. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in GIS, remote sensing, or drone analytics. Advanced drone data processing experience using: Esri Reality / SiteScan Pix4D Blue Marble Or comparable photogrammetry platforms Proficiency in LiDAR processing tools such as: TerraSolid LAStools DJI Terra 3DPointerra CloudCompare Or equivalent platforms Strong expertise in: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS API for Python, ArcGIS API for JavaScript ArcGIS Online and ESRI applications (Experience builder & SDK, Dashboard, Story map, Instant Apps, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal. Experience delivering geospatial solutions in consulting, AEC, transportation, utilities, or infrastructure environments. Python scripting for workflow automation and API integration. Experience with ArcGIS API for JavaScript and ArcGIS API for Python. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent client projects and deadlines. Bachelor's or master's degree in Geospatial Sciences, Remote Sensing, Engineering, or related field. Bonus Qualifications FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification. Experience with AWS or Azure for cloud-based geospatial processing and data sharing. Experience applying machine learning or AI for feature extraction and classification.
