- The Role
- The Sr Network Inventory GIS Engineer acts as a subject matter expert for the organization's GIS network inventory.
- Location
- This is a work from home position within the U.S.
- The Main Responsibilities
- Support the construction, maintenance and evolution of Lumen's GIS planning platform
- Translate network, demand, and implementation data structures into front-end map-based visualization
- Create new data pipelines for GIS data structures to be ingested into apps based on business use cases
- Leads key AI/ML Initiative in driving Responsible for delivering Locate Cost Avoidance/Recovery efforts
- Handles all system management and is the lead for data for locating, including scripting
- Designs and integrates databases from geographical specifications
- Modifies existing GIS systems and adapts new hardware and technology to support program performance
- Applies mathematics and scientific approaches to create schemas and models for GIS program designs
- What We Look For in a Candidate
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in GIS engineering, analysis, or network inventory.
- Must have basic Alteryx experience.
- Strong understanding of GIS concepts, technologies, and tools, including ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, Mapinfo, and open-source GIS tools.
- Experience with GIS analysis, including spatial analysis, network analysis, and data visualization.
- Experience with OSP network inventory systems (3GIS, GE Smallworld, OSPI).
- Experience with CAD software.
- Advanced MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Compensation
- This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges $84,629
- $112,838 in these states:
