Job Description:
_________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Director of Software Engineering is responsible for leading and scaling engineering teams while aligning technical strategy with business objectives. This role oversees the design, development, and delivery of software solutions, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and with high quality. The director sets technical direction, drives best practices, and collaborates cross-functionally with product, design, and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful technology outcomes. Additionally, they manage resources, budgets, and team performance, foster a strong engineering culture, and continuously improve processes to support innovation, scalability, and long-term company growth. Responsibilities Maintain deep knowledge of company products and systems to guide technical decisions. Lead, mentor, and support engineering team members. Enforce and improve SDLC best practices, including coding standards, documentation, source control, and releases. Oversee code reviews and quality assurance processes. Collaborate with leadership and product teams on the software roadmap. Assess business requirements for feasibility, design, and timelines. Direct the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. Qualifications Extensive experience across modern and legacy technologies, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, React, Web
RTC, ASP.NET, PHP, .NET
(C#/VB), WinForms, SQL, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, as well as containerization tools like Docker. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex technical and business challenges. Demonstrated ownership and accountability in driving issues through to resolution and delivering results. Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, engineering teams, and customers. Proven ability to mentor teams and foster a collaborative, approachable, and high-performance engineering culture. Experience with development and project management tools such as Jira, SVN, or comparable platforms. Proficiency across multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android Education, Certifications, Licenses Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience. Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience in a leadership role. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Advanced degree will improve candidacy.
